Hockey Talk

We're down to the "Final Four" in the NHL. In the East, it will be the Ottawa Senators against the Buffalo Sabres, and out west, the Detroit Red Wings will host the Anaheim Ducks. While Ottawa has had a stellar post-season and is playing like a team on a mission, I like Buffalo to advance to the Cup Final for the first time since 1999 because the Senators simply can't match the Sabres' depth. Little known trivia fact: Ottawa has never beaten Buffalo in a playoff series, having gone 0-3, including last year's five game wipeout.

Buffalo's opponent for the Stanley Cup will be Anaheim. I haven't done too well picking against the Red Wings, but eventually, I have to be right! And, more importantly, the Ducks have the two best defensemen in Hockey (Chris Pronger and Scott Niedermayer), with apologies to Detroit's Niklas Lidstrom. This series will go six or seven games.
