The initial frontrunner for the French Foreign Minister's position, about which I posted yesterday, has now fallen back, and there is a new favourite: http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21733429-1702,00.html. Thanks to Solomonia, who's all over this issue. The thing is, this guy doesn't look any better than Hubert Vedrine.
Update: 5:50 p.m.: The Times of London is reporting that Vedrine is still apparently "being wooed" by Sarkozy: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article1784811.ece. Lest we forget, Vedrine is also rabidly anti-American.
