A Wound is Reopened

Peter Lanza, the father of Newtown shooter Adam Lanza, has given an interview to the New Yorker which is causing a fair amount of controversy, as people predictably line up to either excoriate him or ask "what could he have done to stop this?"
Personally, I have no idea how as a parent, especially one who was divorced, and one who had been cut off from his son for over a year by his son's actions, he could have been expected to stop Adam Lanza from committing his horrific act of mass murder.
And, if you read the comments on the stories reporting on the interview, all the nutcases are out in full force--the "false flag" loonies, the "the government did it to take away our guns" or "it never happened" crowds, and of course the mandatory "the JEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS did it" collection of whack jobs.  Of course, because that's just the way we Jews roll...................

As a society, have we become so completely unhinged and distrusting of everything that we don't believe in ANYTHING anymore?

For what it's worth, he's a link to the actual article: Peter Lanza Story

Loons of the world, unite!

You have nothing to lose but your straitjackets! Cynthia McKinney never fails to amaze, or amuse for that matter. When she isn't spewing 9/11 conspiracy theories or anti-Semitic tripe, she is claiming that the Department of Defense killed 5,000 "prisoners" and dumped their bodies in the flood waters left by Hurricane Katrina. Yes, I'm serious: http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/02/mckinney-accuses-government-slaughtering-prisoners-dumping-bodies-katrina/comments/.

I'm not a big fan of the Green Party, but I do acknowledge that they have as their primary focus a serious issue (environmentalism). So, why would they tie themselves in with a nutcase like McKinney? I don't get it.............

BDS moves east

BDS sufferers number in the millions here in the U.S., and Europe has more than its share of them as well. Now, you can add Russia's Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, to the list: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article4628711.ece. Apparently, George W. Bush is SOOOO powerful that he orchestrated the whole Russia-Georgia conflict just to guarantee that John McCain would win the White the Presidency in November. Really!

You want to know the really scary thing about this claim? The left in this country will believe it completely.

Academic anti-Semitism in Germany

Some nutcase professor in Germany is spouting off that the Israeli athletes who were murdered by Palestinian terrorists at the Munich Olympic Games were actually NOT killed, but in fact committed suicide so as to help Israel extract money from what was then West Germany: http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1214726193804&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull. This is a new manifestation on the "Jews are only interested in money" staple of anti-Semitic tripe, and I'll give the professor credit for a novel twist on an old lie. That doesn't make it any less offensive, though...........

Another conspiracy theory gets shot down

9/11 Truthers are a resilient bunch. Debunk one of their theories and they quickly fire back with two more wacky theories. Now, one of their prize theories, the collapse of World Trade Center Building Seven, is about to be exposed as being nothing more than another crackpot theory. The National Institute of Science and Technology is about to publish its long-awaited and eagerly-anticipated findings on the collapse of the building and--shocker!--it found that the building was NOT destroyed in a controlled demolition: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7485331.stm.

Sorry Rosie O'Donnell, sorry Jesse Ventura, sorry Charlie Sheen. You can all take your toys and run along now............

Words of wisdom

This is the voice of moderation, Hussein Fadhlallah, the top Shiite cleric in Lebanon, talking about how it's okay to beat your wife, how the Jews use the Holocaust to extort money from Germany and how 9/11 really was an inside job: http://www.memritv.org/newsletter/fadhlallah.htm.

Isn't he one of those who we keep getting told is one of the "moderates"? Why does this type of lunacy not receive more attention in the western MSM?

Conspirary theorists of the world, unite!

Libya's Moammar Khaddafy is back in the news again, explaining that Barack Obama's words of support for Israel at the recent AIPAC conference stem from a fear on Obama's part that the Mossad will assassinate him...........just like it took out JFK: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/991948.html.

I wonder if he knows that JFK was very pro-Israel?

Denial times two

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad prides himself on being a Holocaust denier, so it certainly didn't require a large "leap of logic" for him to out himself as a 9/11 Truther: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/04/16/world/main4019128.shtml. The scary thing is that so many people reading this article undoubtedly agree with him.............

Sure seems reasonable to me!

Richard Falk, the rabidly anti-Israel Princeton professor who was assigned by the United Nations Human Rights Commission to permanently investigate Israeli "abuses" against the Palestinians, is a 9/11 Truther (shocking, I know): http://www.nysun.com/news/foreign/un-official-calls-study-neocons-role-911. In his warped world view, those EEEEEEEEVVVVVVVIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL Neo-Cons (translation: JEWS) were behind the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks because they needed an excuse to remake the world.

I'm sure that we can count on plenty of reasonable pronouncements out of him in the years to come..........

Friday, February 22, 2008

Oh, shut up.......

Willie Nelson who previously revealed himself as a 9/11 Truther (which he denies), is now on the record as calling for President Bush's impeachment, because the EEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVIIIIILLLLLLLLLLL Bush 43 Administration might cancel the election in order to stay in power: http://www.kvue.com/news/top/stories/022108kvuewilliegeorge-cb.1627e0ec.html.

The Angry Left is getting, well............angrier. I'm at a loss to say anything else.

Another 9/11 conspiracy nut reveals himself

You can add country music legend Willie Nelson to the (seemingly) ever growing list of 9/11 conspiracy whack jobs, where he can keep Charlie Sheen and Rosie O'Donnell company: http://www.kvue.com/news/local/stories/020408kvuenelson-bkm.8e5c8740.html. It's a good thing ignorant fools such as myself have astute entertainers around to tell them that the Twin Towers weren't really levelled by airplanes, but were instead taken down by controlled demolitions.

I have no--I repeat, NO--patience for these 9/11 idiot conspiracy theorists. Go away. Shut up.

This one's pretty good

Americans, it has been said, never met a conspiracy theory they didn't like. I've never been a big fan of that particular saying, but someone e-mailed the following clip from YouTube to me which makes me think that maybe I was wrong: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuBo4E77ZXo.

The internet is a wonderful thing, but if not used responsibly, it poses dangers as well. The clip to which I linked above was sent to me by two people, one of whom clearly saw this for the conspiracy lunacy which it is. The other, however, was a teenager who took it very seriously. Therein lies the problem. People see something on the internet and think that it MUST be true. That is why roughly 1/3 of all Americans now believe that 9/11 was an inside job. That is why about half of all the people in this country think that the invasion of Afghanistan was done to build an oil pipeline. It's why a vocal and growing minority of people question the occurrence of the Holocaust.

We can't ignore what is going on, and in fact, it would be dangerous in my mind to do so. There's an old adage that one should not debate a fool, because observers may not be able to tell the difference. Fighting these conspiracy theorists might be the one exception to that rule........

9/11 "Truthers", meet Holocaust Deniers. Holocaust Deniers, meet 9/11 "Truthers"

Thanks to Charles at Little Green Footballs, I have found a wonderful new blog, Adam Holland, which is now linked on my blogroll. Adam has a couple of posts on the dismaying (but unsurprising) convergence between 9/11 conspiracy theorists and and Holocaust deniers. That these similarly demented individuals have joined forces, or are about to do so, should be a surprise to no one.

You can find his posts here: http://adamholland.blogspot.com/. Both were written on Tuesday, October 9, 2007.

Wackos, wackos everywhere!

They're coming out of all the woodworks now: http://www.counterpunch.org/lindorff07272007.html.

I could make a bunch of smug and snarky comments about this guy's lunacy but really, why bother? If you can't figure that he's nuts, you're just as nuts yourself...........

Was there a full moon the other day?

All of the nutcases are coming out of the woodwork. This time it is aspiring Presidential candidate Ron Paul of Texas claiming that the U.S. Government might stage a terrorist attack of its own to draw attention away from the situation in Iraq: http://www.breitbart.tv/html/3013.html.

Who knows, maybe Paul was just testing the waters to see if Rosie O'Donnell would be willing to serve as his running mate, assuming that he gets the Republican nomination.

More conspiracy theory debunking

Purdue University just completed a study of what brought down the Twin Towers on 9/11. I hope that you are all sitting down, because this WILL shock you! It was (gasp)...............planes flying into the buildings!!!! Yes, it's true! For more, go here: http://www.purdue.edu/uns/x/2007a/070612HoffmannWTC.html.

Sorry, 9/11 Conspiracy Theorists, you're wrong, not to mention delusional.

Conspiracy Theorists

Very thoughtful article from Dennis Prager, with whom I do not always agree (just listen to him blather on about the virtues of the pesticide DDT), on why so many people buy into conspiracy theories: http://www.townhall.com/columnists/DennisPrager/2007/06/12/from_jfk_to_911_why_people_believe_in_conspiracies. It's well worth the read, and I think that his explanations for the prevalence of conspiracy theories are pretty accurate.

Taking on the 9/11 "Truthers"

Another great article from Townhall.com, this time pointing out the sheer insanity of the 9/11 "Truth Movement": http://www.townhall.com/columnists/JohnHawkins/2007/06/08/proving_the_911_conspiracists_wrong. Readers of this blog know well that the conspiracy nuts absolutely drive me to distraction. It is beyond offensive to me that these fruitcakes, led by head fruitcake Dylan Avery (who produced the Bible of the 9/11 conspiracy movement, Loose Change), think that the U.S. government was behind 9/11.

Worse yet, let's not forget that Dylan Avery and his merry band of Generation X slackers represent the mainstream of the conspiracy movement. There is a significant element which also believes that the Mossad was behind 9/11 and that no Jews died in the attacks on the World Trade Center (I guess that the one I personally knew was not really Jewish).

The bottom line is that the author of the article referenced above is right. These nitwits need to be confronted and their lies exposed to the light.

An old conspiracy theory rears its ugly head

Most people familiar with the Six Day War recall that during the conflict, Israeli jets attacked a U.S. warship in the area, the Liberty. Despite exhaustive investigations which clearly established that attack was accidental, some won't let it go, including this Op-Ed columnist in Australia: http://www.theage.com.au/news/opinion/six-days-of-war-40-years-of-secrecy/2007/05/26/1179601730257.html. This is frustrating beyond belief, but if a person hates Israel, as this writer obviously does, you will find any theory, no matter how flimsy, to justify that belief. For more on the debunking of this particular conspiracy theory, go here: http://www.honestreporting.com/articles/critiques/Return_of_the_USS_Liberty.asp.

Rosie O'Donnell is at it again

Rosie is of the belief that the government brought down WTC Building Seven, and now her show, The View, is set to host members of the so-called "9/11 Truth Movement". Here is the breathless report on it from Moonbat central: http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/may2007/150507theview.htm.

Popular Mechanics did an unbelievable job in destroying these wackos and their insane theories, and I'm about halfway through the book (I'll have a full review when I finish). On their website the editors respond to Rosie's latest delusional rantings: http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/911myths/4216644.html. Read it all............
