Bees, Part Two

This story really does fascinate me. Where ARE the bees: http://www.philly.com/inquirer/front_page/20070531_Farmers_survive_the_lost_colonies.html. The prevailing wisdom is that it is either a form of bee exhaustion or a pesticide, or some combination of the two that is causing honeybees to vanish. And, the fact of the matter is that I've noticed it personally. We have flowering plants in front of our house which are normally infested, for lack of a better word, with honeybees. Not this year. You can't find one honeybee, just the occasional bumblebee.

Maybe you're not concerned about this. Maybe you don't care at all. Given the role that honeybees play in pollenating so many of the foods we eat (we can start and end with apple trees), you should be............
