Hockey Talk

Half the dance card for the Stanley Cup Finals is now filled, as the Ottawa Senators finally lived up to the potential they have showed for the last ten years and made it to the big dance. They were deserving winners, too, and whoever comes out of the West will have their hands full with a team that is clearly clicking on all cylinders. Of course, we have seen plenty of teams reach the Finals on a roll only to fall flat on their faces (see Philadelphia, 1997; Detroit, 1995). I don't think that Ottawa will do that this season, but you can't rule it out. I'd like to see the Sens win; it's been 14 years since a Canadian team won it all, and the party in that city would be like no other if the team brought Canada's capital its first Stanley Cup in 80 years.
