Barry Bonds

Barry Bonds' chase for Baseball's all-time home run record has been reduced to a racial issue. ESPN commissioned a study which found that 76% of "Caucasians" don't want Bonds to break the record, while the number drops dramatically to 37% in the case of African Americans: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2861930.

I honestly don't get it. To me, this is an issue that has absolutely nothing to do with race. Bonds' numbers are tainted, as far as I am concerned, but the same is true for those of Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Rafael Palmeiro. They're all cheaters, and their records should be expunged from the record book. Bonds could end his career with 800+ home runs and it won't matter to me. Hank Aaron was and always will be the all-time home run champ. Similarly, Roger Maris is still the single season record holder.
