The Angry Left in this country is personified by several people. It is people such as Noam Chomsky, Ward Churchill and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck's favourite political thinker, Howard Zinn who are the face of this movement. And speaking of Mr. Zinn, here is a heartwarming Op-Ed by him: http://progressive.org/media_mpzinn070106. In it, the good Mr. Zinn offers his thoughts on those poor, naive, misguided souls who think that it's nice to fly the flag on July 4th.
You see, according to Howard Zinn and other like-minded individuals, nationalism is a BAD thing. Always.
I can't deny that nationalism can be used for corrosive and evil purposes (Nazi Germany, anyone?). However, to imply as Zinn does that American nationalism is in the same category is as obscene as it is stupid.
