Continued Delusion

Apparently, the morphing of Bush 43 into Bush 41 is nearly complete. Now, President George W. Bush is calling for a Middle East Peace Conference, which will be attended by Israel, the Palestinians and an unknown number of Arab states: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070716-7.html.

Honestly, who the hell is he kidding? The Arab States still haven't recognized Israel. In fact they have specifically said that they will never do so until and unless Israel withdraws from every square inch of the West Bank, including all of East Jerusalem--and even then, I doubt that they will follow through on their promise. Only Ehud Olmert and the members of the Israeli government seem to think that the Palestinians will be satisfied if Israel withdraws from the West Bank. Hamas has already said that it will never accept the existence of Israel on the "Occupied Territory", but of course, no one seems to want to admit that Hamas is referring to all of Israel, not just the West Bank. So, terrorism will continue, and if Israel does pull out of the West Bank, we'll see rockets being launched at Ted Aviv and West Jerusalem.

The situation is no longer frustrating. It is now just depressing.
