Iraq is lost

Well, no, not really, but you'd never gather that from the reports in the MSM, which is slavishly devoting all of its resources to proclaiming that the Surge has already failed, and to publicizing the week-kneed proclamations of Republicans who are doing their best Cowardly Lion impression: http://www.opinionjournal.com/editorial/feature.html?id=110010320.

Is Iraq Malibu, or the Hamptons, or Palm Beach? Of course not. It never will be. To declare the Surge a failure just as it is really getting started, however, is the ultimate in irresponsible and mendacious behaviour.

It's interesting that on the most recent Iraq vote in the House, 4 Republicans switched, but so did 10 Democrats! So the vote was closer than if it had been completely partisan.

That is interesting, and I did not know that!
