We have all noticed how, no matter how a war goes, the Arab media by and large proclaims victory, hence the celebration of Hezbollah's "victory" over Israel last summer. While we can question whether Israel won, I don't think for a second that it can be said that Hezbollah emerged triumphant. At best it was a stalemate. Admittedly, given Israel's precarious position in the Middle East, this is unacceptable.
A Lebanese writer has asked rhetorically whether this lack of honesty really helps the Arab cause: http://www.dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_id=10&categ_id=5&article_id=83503. It's a fair question, I think...........
