NHL News

The New Jersey Devils have had a history of late-season coaching changes, and they just did it again, firing head coach Claude Julien (http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=ap-devils-julienfired&prov=ap&type=lgns) with just three games left in the season. Team President Lou Lamoriello will step behind the bench. This is a strange move, given that the Devils had not been playing badly and New Jersey's position as (currently) the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Still, doing things like this had previously worked out for New Jersey, such as in 2000 when Larry Robinson stepped in and won a Stanley Cup. Go figure..........

BHG,

As a devils fan I am at a complete loss as to why this happened. Makes me wonder what Lou plans to do next year for a coach and how he expects to get a good coach to agree to coach the team.
