Hockey Talk

I just got done watching the Detroit Red Wings effortless 3-1 win over the (to this point) completely overmatched Calgary Flames. I was one of those who while not predicting a Calgary win did think that Detroit would be in for a battle. That may still end up being the case, but through the first two games (both Detroit wins), the Red Wings have outscored the Flames 7-2 and outshot them by the stunning margin of 97-35. If not for the stellar play of all-world goalie Mikka Kipprusoff, the two games could each easily have ended up 8-1.

As an ex-pat Michigander, I am always thrilled to see the Wings perform well in the post season series.

To see two Finns battling each other in the series is a treat.
