Double Standards

I have to admit, I am mystified by the actions of feminists in the West. It's not that I disagree with equal rights for all, it's just that I don' get their willful blindness when it comes to the Islamic world. They carry on--sometimes legitimately--about gender bias in here in the West, but either ignore or (worse yet) excuse it in the Islamic world, where polygamy, honour killings, a lack of women's suffrage and the like are the rule: http://www.meforum.org/article/1769.

Can anyone explain this to me?

I think that feminist identification with the Palestinians, and from there to Islamist nations in general, if such a generalization can really be made, has its roots in the common causes made in the civil and human rights movements of the '60s. Too bad it is sometimes mindless, especially in the way it is represented by the current spokespersons.
