The U.N. Security Council had a chance last Friday to do something about the deplorable situation in Zimbabwe, namely to impose sanctions against the Robert Mugabe regime which just stole an election. Needless to say, it failed miserably in this task, with South Africa, China, Russia and Vietnam all voting against imposing any sanctions, because to do so would amount to "interference in the internal affairs of a member country": http://online.wsj.com/article/SB121599305721549429.html?mod=djemEditorialPage.
Hmm, they don't seem to have the same legalistic reluctance to "interfere in the internal affairs" of Israel, do they?
