Philadelphia sports fans have known this for a long time, but for those out there who don't, the Phillies are the losingest (new word alert!) team in sports history: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/12/sports/baseball/12phillies.html?_r=1&ref=sports&oref=slogin. Not just Baseball, ALL SPORTS EVERYWHERE. As of today, they are just 14 losses shy of the magical 10,000 mark, a figure no other team has come close to approaching. They have been around well over 100 years, and what do they have to show for it? One lonely World Series title.
Ah, it's great to be a resident of this area...........................
