I may as well stop trashing the U.K. for its kowtowing to Islamic law, seeing as we're now doing the same thing over here: http://www.2ndcoa.courts.state.tx.us/opinions/HTMLopinion.asp?OpinionID=14601. And this is in TEXAS, of all places.
Have we really abandoned all connection to sanity?

How is this kowtowing to Islamic law? The Court merely found that the parties had a valid arbitration agreement that encompassed all the issues that were in the underlying litigation. The US legal system simply agreed that they had to arbitrate, The fact that they had agreed to arbitrate under Islamic law has nothing to do with it, they could have agreed to arbitrate under Disney rules and the result would have been the same.
