Let's think of some countries that have forced atheism, or in the recent past: Russia, China, and North Korea. Pleasant countries, those! I really don't know anything about costs of food production, but if kosher products really do cost more, with less than 2% of the population Jewish and Muslim I doubt it makes much of difference. Besides I thought Muslims just avoided certain foods like pork, I didn't know it had to be made a certain way.
