Yesterday, terrorists bombed the U.S. embassy in San'a, Yemen, killing 16 people and causing significant damage to the embassy compound:

With all of the focus on the Wall Street meltdown, this story, which would ordinarily have been front-page, top-of-the-fold news, was relegated to an afterthought in most newspapers. Though no one has taken "credit" for the bombing, 25 people linked to al Qaeda have been arrested. I guess that it's a sad comment on the times, but my first reaction was "How will our politicians try to spin this to their advantage?"
